Janine Jansen's Bach Concertos CD is released on Decca; she tours the programme in December

Janine Jansen’s new recording of Bach Concertos and Sonatas is released on Decca Classics in October.

The recording comprises Bach’s Concertos in E, BWV.1042, in A minor, BWV.1041, as well as the Concerto for violin and oboe - where Janine is joined by oboist Ramón Ortega Quero. The recording also includes two Sonatas for harpsichord and violin – in E, BWV.1016 and in C minor, BWV.1017.

In December 2013 and March 2014 Jansen and her ensemble undertake two tours throughout Europe, with programmes drawn from the recording. For the recording and tour, Janine is joined by twelve of her closest musical friends and family: Boris Brovtsyn, Cindy Albracht, Fredrik Paulsson, Julia-Maria Kretz, Tijmen Huisingh and Monika Urbonaite (violin); Pauline Sachse and Nimrod Guez (viola); Maarten Jansen (cello); Rick Stotijn (double-bass); Jan Jansen (harpsichord).

The tour consists of 15 concerts throughout Europe including Paris, Amsterdam, London, Vienna, Berlin and Munich.

On pre-release in The Netherlands, the recording went straight to Number 1 in the Dutch main iTunes chart. The CD is scheduled for international release on 28 October.
